Cliq ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application ("Cliq" or the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and an optional profile avatar. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the App, including the creators you follow, your notification preferences, and your theme settings.

Device Information: We collect your device's push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send you notifications about new releases from creators you follow.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the App's functionality
• Send you push notifications about new movies and TV shows from creators you follow
• Personalize your experience (language, theme preferences)
• Improve the App and develop new features
• Respond to your support requests

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:

• Firebase (Google): For push notification delivery and authentication
• TMDB (The Movie Database): We use TMDB's public API to fetch movie and creator data. No personal data is sent to TMDB.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. We use JWT tokens for session authentication. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Push Notifications

The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App's settings. When you follow a creator, you can choose which types of notifications to receive.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• The Movie Database (TMDB): For movie, TV show, and creator data
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: For push notifications
• Google Sign-In: For optional social authentication
• Wikipedia: For trivia and additional creator information

Each of these services has its own privacy policy that governs the use of your information.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Update or correct your personal information
• Opt out of push notifications
• Export your data

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
